Eyes Down at The British Library
A visit to the British Library as part of Learning Disabilities Week back in June 2008, has evolved into a collaboration between Haringey Day Opportunities Service and the Learning Department of The British Library.
As a consequence of this workshop, John Chapman (Haringey Day Opportunities Service) was approached by Ria Bartlett, Manager of Learning at the British Library, and they discussed how the Library could develop and extend their current workshop programme. Keith Simmonds (Artscope) was brought on-board to offer his expertise regarding workshop provision, in light of his work with the Tate Gallery.

The on-going collaboration with the British Library continued recently with a staff training day. Five members of staff from across Haringey's Day Opportunities spent a day piloting a variety of practical tailor-made activities within the Library space, alongside British Library Gallery Educators. It was an opportunity for the Library to test out their ideas and gain feedback from the Day Opportunities staff regarding best practise.
The next stage is to pilot the workshop with service users.
