Through to Abstraction
Lorraine Stewart, Abena Adare and Tony Best bring their painting talents together in this small online exhibition of recent works exploring the nature of abstraction, under the supervision of Helge Nordlie.
'Abena, Lorraine and Tony have all been part of the Artscope project since 2004. By being given the opportunity to work in a proper art studio with all its facilities, and with artistic and technical guidance, they have moved on in their development as artists.
The title of this exhibition came as a result of the continuous journey they have embarked on in their work, via a variety of techniques and approaches.
In contrast to the more spontaneous abstract expressionism, their work has slowly evolved along the path of figurative and symbolist painting.
It is a great pleasure to show some of their paintings.'
