Tottenham and Seven Sisters
History
The Tottenham and Seven Sisters neighbourhood also includes Tottenham Hale and has the busy High Road running through the area.
There has been a great deal of regeneration work along the High Road and this is the main campus for CONEL. They will be adding Tottenham Town Hall to their campus later this year. The Bernie Grant Arts Centre opens in September 2007 which will be a huge asset to the area. The area also benefits from the Tottenham Green Leisure Centre and Marcus Garvey Library next door at Tottenham Green.
The area has very good transportation links with Central London and is on the main road and rail route to Stansted Airport. The Tottenham High Road has undergone regeneration work to provide new accommodation and new small business work space. Also through European funding and Heritage Lottery funding, some of the historic facades of the Edwardian buildings have been improved.
|back to topAims and objectives
The neighbourhood management strategy sets out to narrow the gap between the deprived neighbourhoods and the rest of the country. The cultural mix of this part of the borough is constantly changing. We are always looking at new ways to engage with different parts of the community.
