Community Kitchen Project
The Back to Earth Farm Community Kitchen Project is the first Back to Earth (B2E) project for Tottenham as part of the regeneration of Lordship Recreational Grounds.
We have now been awarded further funding for the second part of the Community Kitchen pilot programme this Autumn from the local West Green Neighbourhood “Making The Difference” fund. This money is given to us to run the Community Kitchen Cook-ins, Training and the Tottenham Food Co-op for 12 weeks.
We are running the 2nd Pilot Farm Community Kitchen/Food Co-op as follows:
- From Friday 7 November then every Friday up until the 19 December 2008.
Community Kitchen Cook-in
The Farm Community Kitchen Cook-in cooking lunch for all: Very good value lunches served between 12.30 pm to 3.00 pm in the Jazz Café at Broadwater Farm Community Centre. Each week various communities or cultural groups will use the kitchen, under the guidance of the Community Kitchen Co-ordinator to cook some of their favourite dishes and share their different culinary tastes and expertise with other community members.
- From Saturday 22 November then every other Saturday up until the 20 December 2008.
Food Co-op
The Tottenham Food Co-op: We operate a volunteer run pilot project, staffed by volunteers and a Community Kitchen Co-ordinator. We will sell at little more than cost: fresh food from wholesalers, including any local fresh fruit and veg we can source and from the new Spitalfields market in nearby Leyton. We will source food requested by the community, with a strong preference for local organic food.
