Our Service to You

Our aim is to encourage learning, improve employment prospects, promote social inclusion and improve the quality of life for people who live, work and study in Haringey.

What we provide:

Books, music, videos, DVDs and other materials. You can borrow up to:

  • 12 books and 4CDs at a time for a maximum period of three weeks.
  • 4 DVD/videos. Feature films can be borrowed for a maximum of 2 days at a time and children's, music or documentary video's can be borrowed for a maximum of 1 week.
    (Please note: there is a charge for borrowing CDs, videos and DVDs)

Loans are made both to those who are able to visit our libraries and via a mobile service for the housebound and other groups.

Other things that you can expect include:

  • Free access to the Internet at all libraries
  • Access to reference material, periodicals, newspapers and magazines
  • Information about a range of local community groups, courses and resources
  • A range of exhibitions and events throughout the year
  • A record of the heritage, places and communities in Haringey through records and artefacts conserved and maintained in Haringey's museums

We ask you to:

  • Keep all materials that you borrow in good condition
  • Return what you borrow on time
  • Respect other library users
  • Be polite to our staff
  • Switch off your mobile phones when in our libraries
