Reading Groups

Do you love reading?

Whatever kind of books you enjoy our libraries have something for everyone: 'Chick lit', Classics, Crime, Graphic-novels, Poetry, Romance, Science-Fiction, Thrillers, Westerns and other types of fiction. What's more if you cannot find what you are looking for, then for a small charge, you may request any title and we shall do our very best to obtain it for you.

Why not join a Reading Group?

These groups offer the opportunity to talk about your reading with other book-lovers and to try out authors you might not have otherwise discovered.

If you are a keen reader and like discuss the books you read, why not join one of the Readers' Groups within our libraries in Haringey? There are several groups for adults and children and young people. Why not join one?

Adult Reading Groups

Alexandra Park Library

• Friends of Alexandra Park Library Reading Group
  The group meets on the second Wednesday of each month, at 3.45pm

Coombes Croft Library

• The Coombes Croft Reading Group
  The group meet on the third Thursday of the month, 6pm to 8pm

Highgate Library

• Open Book: Highgate Library Reading Group
  The group meets on the last Monday of the month, at 6pm

Hornsey Library

• Talking Book Group
  For people with visual impairment
  The group meets on the first Monday of the month, at 11am to 12.30pm
• Make Friends With A Book
  A different kind of book group, where we read, talk and share together. No need to read in advance. Join in as you wish. Every Monday 2pm to 4pm
• Hornsey Reading Group
  The group meets on the first Saturday of the month, at 3pm to 4.30pm

Marcus Garvey Library

• Marcus Garvey Book Group
  The group meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month, at 7pm
• Sankofa Reading Group
  The group meets on the fourth Friday of the month, at 6.30pm to 8.30pm
  Open to all adults, discusses Black literature
• U3A Poetry Reading Group
  The group meets on the third Wednesday of the month, at 2pm to 3pm

Muswell Hill Library

• Muswell Hill Library Book Group
  Normally the group meets on the fourth or last Monday of the month, at 6.15pm to 7.30pm
• Muswell Hill Library Reading Group.
  Normally the group meets on the third Friday of the month, at 12.30pm to 1.30pm

St Ann's Library

• St Ann's Library Book Group
  Normally the group meets on the third Monday of month, at 6.30pm to 7.30pm

Wood Green Central Library

• Wood Green Reading Group
  The group meets monthly, please contact library for details
• Turkish Literary Group
  The group meets on the third Monday of the month, at 12noon to 2pm
• Bengali Writers Group
  The group meets on the first Friday of the month, at 4.30pm to 6.30pm
• Urdu Poetry Group
  The group meets on the third Wednesday of month, at 2pm to 6pm

  Held fortnightly (date subject to change) at 2pm to 3pm

• Chatterbooks Reading Group for 8 to 12 year olds
  Held monthly on Saturdays (date subject to change) at 3pm to 4pm
• Teenage Reading Group
  Held monthly on Saturdays (date subject to change) at 2.30pm to 3.30pm
