How to join Haringey libraries

How to join

It is free to join Haringey Libraries:

  • just fill in a form, and
  • show us 2 items of ID - both of which must be current, where one contains your name and address; such as a bill, a bank statement or your driving licence (see identification section below for more details) and the other proving your signature

Unfortunately it is not possible to join online. However, the attached membership form may be printed off from the attached files section on this page.

  • If you are an asylum seeker you need only provide one Home Office document containing your name and address.
  • If you are under 16, Section B on the front of the form must be completed and signed by your mother, father or your guardian.

Identification (ID)

We require 2 items of ID: one ID item to show your name and address, and the other to show your name and signature.

Examples of what we will accept:

  • Medical card
  • Doctor’s Letter
  • Hospital Letter
  • Passport or ID card
  • Driving licence
  • Electricity bill
  • Gas bill
  • Water Bill
  • Bank statement
  • Credit or Bank card
  • Letters from your bank
  • Rent Book
  • Tenancy agreement
  • Letter from your landlord
  • Mortgage contract
  • Letter from mortgage lender
  • Other official letters

Refugees and asylum seekers:

If you can show us a letter from the Home Office with your name and address on it, that will be enough.

  • All ID must be valid and current or dated within three months.
