Changes to Library Loans and Charges
As of Monday 1st November 2010, the following changes will be implemented in all Haringey Libraries:
- Library charges have been revised and more details are below. The changes have been introduced due to the previous charges being held for three years.
- CD loan period will be reduced from three weeks to one week
- Standardising of adult library membership cards.
What you can borrow
Library members can borrow books, audio books, language courses and toys free of charge. There are small charges for borrowing music CDs, DVDs and Blu-Rays.
Members may borrow up to 12 books/audio books, eight music CDs and four Blu-Rays/DVDs/videos to a maximum of 24 items.
The loan period for each item are:
- books and audio books for three weeks
- language courses for six weeks
- music CDs for one week
- Blu-Rays, DVDs and videos may only be borrowed for two days or for one week.

Library charges
General Charges
- Reservations £1.
- Reservations for Over 60s 50p.
- Overdue books per item per day (except Blu-Rays and DVDs) 20p.
- Maximum overdue charge per item (except Blu-Rays and DVDs) £6.
- No overdue charges for Over 60s and Under 16.
- Lost ticket replacement £2.
- Lost ticket replacement for Over 60s and Under 16 £1.
- Small Ads, A5 £2 per three weeks.
If you lose or damage an item we shall charge you for the cost of replacing it. In the case of Blu-Rays/DVDs/videos, this is the cost of the rental edition. If an item is out of print or production, there will be a charge of £10.
Audio Charges (per one week loan)
- CDs 50p.
- Renewal fees at the above rates.
Audio items are free of charge for people over 60.
Spoken Word - Talking Books (per 3 week loan)
- No charge.
If spoken word recordings are overdue, the charges will apply for every additional loan period stated.
Blu-Rays / DVDs / Videos (maximum of 4)
- Blockbuster Films £3 per loan for two days.
- Feature Films and Documentaries £1 per loan for one week.
- Multi-DVDs (sets of 4 or more) £3 per loan for one week.
- Renewal fees at the above rates.
Photocopying / Printing / Computing Services
- Black and white photocopies, A4 10p per page.
- Black and white photocopies, A3 20p per page.
- Colour photocopies, A4 50p per page.
- Colour photocopies, A3 £1 per page.
- Black and white printing, A4 10p per page.
- Colour printing, A4 50p per page.
- Sale of USB (2GB) £7.50.
Facsimile Services
- Outgoing UK (per sheet) £1.
- International (per sheet) £1.50
- Incoming faxes (per sheet) £1.
