White Hart Lane Tennis Club aims to encourage everyone in the local community to play more and better tennis. The club provides a year round programme of low cost tennis classes with classes to suit all ages and abilities.

The WHL Tennis Club runs the following classes:

Tennis Programmes

Children

Red (4 - 7 years)

Children are introduced to the basics of tennis and developing movement, co-ordination and ball skills. They take part in fun activities and play short matches and team competitions on mini-courts with low compression tennis balls.

Orange (7 - 9 years)

Children learn new shots and focus on tennis technique to help them rally on a bigger court. Using low compression tennis balls they play slightly longer matches as part of a team.

Green (10 - 12 years)

This is the final stage in preparing children for full tennis and the focus is on developing tennis technique and tactics as well as fundamental athletic skills.

Teen (13 - 18 years)

Tennis played on whole courts with adult balls and equipment for all standards.

Advanced

These sessions are for children of all ages who play tennis to an advanced level. All children taking part in these sessions must be invited by the tennis coaches at White Hart Lane Tennis Club.

All junior classes are subsidised and cost from as little as £2.60 per session. To enrol your child must have an Active Junior Advantage+ card or Active Junior Advantage card - both cards are free and available at the reception desk at White Hart Lane Community Sports Centre.

Adults

5 week courses are run on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7 - 8pm for beginners and 8 - 9pm for intermediate level players. Participants pay £31 for a 5 week course, consisting of 5 hours of coaching. All equipment is provided.

Beginner Adult Group Coaching

An introductory course is available to adults who have never played or rarely play tennis. The course focuses on all round tennis technique and culminates in a doubles tournament in the final week.

Intermediate Adult Group Coaching

This class is aimed at adults wishing to improve their tennis technique and doubles tactics. The course closes with a doubles tournament and is designed for players who can rally and have an understanding of tennis rules.

All coaches are qualified coaches and are fully CRB checked.

Haringey Adult Tennis League

Tennis players of all standards are invited to join the Haringey Tennis League. Participants will play matches at White Hart Lane Tennis Club or other public courts and the winner will receive cash prizes.

The winner will receive a prize and a winner’s certificate. The league is open to players over the age of 18 and is mixed, with both men and women playing each other. The league runs for 8 weeks at a time.

The cost of entering each round is £10 and everyone who completes three matches by the mid way point of each round receives a free tube of tennis balls.

• 4 Sessions = £60 Advantage Plus or £52 Advantage
• 3 Sessions = £45 Advantage Plus or £39 Advantage
• 2 Sessions = £34 Advantage Plus or £30 Advantage
• 1 Session = £20 Advantage Plus or £16 Advantage

School holiday timetable

Individual Coaching

We have a certified Lawn Tennis Association level two coach who as a junior played at county, regional and national level. For more information on any course or to book a private tennis lesson please speak to a member of staff at our centre.
