In celebration of their 350th anniversary in 2010, the Royal Society has awarded a grant to Bruce Castle Museum so we may celebrate our local hero, Luke Howard FRS, the Father of Meteorology and the Namer of Clouds. There will be a programme of Luke Howard events this year.
Join us today to launch our exhibition.. All welcome.

Did you know that the Father of Meteorology, Luke Howard, lived in Tottenham? Find out more about this local hero and how he influenced the way we look at the clouds.

To celebrate the end of our Postal History Project, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, ten people having connections with the Post Office or Royal Mail choose an object that means something special to them from the Morten Collection .
Supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Markfield Beam Engine and Museum

Markfield Road, Markfield Park, N15 4RB
Open on the Second Sunday of every Month from March to November
11am to 4pm
The Beam Engine has now been restored with help of the Heritage Lottery Fund. It can be seen operating under steam power on designated days. The Engine House has been renovated and there is now a Cafe on site.

It is 70 years since rationing came into force in 1940. Pat and Barbara Elliott look back at how women coped with looking after their families through the hardship of WW2.

Discover how ‘Cynicus’ made his fortune with the production of these amusing postcards. Presented by local postcard collector Hugh Garnsworthy.
