Dog Control Orders have now come into effect in Haringey parks. Visit our Dog Control in Parks page to find out which parks allow dogs to run around freely, and which parks require dogs to be kept on leads.

Maintenance and Facilities

Haringey has improved maintenance and provision of all facilities in parks over the last five years according to respondents. As the Key Performance Indicators graph in the attached files section shows, Haringey scores above the London average in all categories.

Horticulture scored very well including grass cutting and the provision of flowers.

Respondents still didn't rate the provision of car parking very highly. However due to Haringey being a very built-up area, where space is limited and the Council wishing to ensure a low level of hard surfacing within the parks, there are limited options available to improve this situation.

Haringey scored relatively well on the provision of bins and general cleanliness.

Other issues such as the provision of more benches and the upgrading of playgrounds were also high on people's improvement lists.

Other recommendations were more individual park orientated, but could also be considered for other parks. These included the provision or improvement of:

  • toilet facilities
  • control of dogs and dog fouling
