Wood Green Common

Barratt gardens and wood green common

Station Road, N22

Wood Green Common lies within 5 minutes walk of Wood Green tube station. The grassy common is often used for informal kick-a-bouts and picnics.

Barratt Gardens are the formal gardens that lie to the south of the common, where a wisteria covered pergola offers shade from both the sun and rain.

A playground lies to the north of the common and caters for children up to the age of 12 years.

Haringey Council has been working in partnership with Groundwork to formulate a draft masterplan for consultation for Wood Green Common. We would like to hear your views on the masterplan as the consultation period is open between 20 November 2009 and 16 April 2010. We are not proposing to make any major changes to the Common but are enhancing the features that are already there such as the playground and the rose garden. We are currently fundraising to make these changes but as yet no funding has been secured.

The masterplan can be viewed in the attached files section below.

If would like to comment on the proposed plans please email parks@haringey.gov.uk
