Albert Road Recreation Ground

Set in a very residential area of Haringey, with two schools backing on to the perimeter of the Park, Green Flag award winning Albert Road Recreation Ground is incredibly popular with both adults and children of all ages.

Within the vast expanse of the green open space is the popular and much loved Pavilion Cafe. Providing a community focal point often used for meetings and parties, it is also home to Haringey Tennis, an organisation that manages the Park's very popular tennis courts.

The Cafe terrace provides the perfect viewing point to watch the regular football, cricket and Aussie Rules football that take place on the playing fields throughout the year.

Albert Road Rec has many facilities. The brightly coloured playground is a favourite for the younger children and the tennis courts, basketball courts and bowling green keep people of all ages entertained. Find out more about the facilities in Albert Road Rec or take a virtual tour of Albert Road Recreation Ground and discover its delights for yourself!

Albert Road Recreation Ground first won the prestigious Green Flag award in 2006 and has now won it for three consecutive years.

Green Flag Judges Comments

'The Park has open entrances with good signage. There is a very safe feeling throughout park, evidenced by high numbers of females and young children. There is excellent ownership of the park by the local community, including the local schools that benefits wider community. In a site primarily used for formal recreation a good effort has been made to create naturalised areas.'
