Heritage Lottery Fund Improvements

Three parks in Haringey have benefited hugely from generous funding provided by the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) over the past few years.

Finsbury Park, the borough's biggest council managed park, was the first to be awarded a total of £3.384m HLF money back in 2003 to restore the Victorian park and bring it back to its former glory, whilst providing a modern park for the whole community to use.

In 2010 work was completed to restore Markfield Park in the very east of the borough, after £1.5m was awarded.

And the latest park to benefit from HLF funding is Lordship Recreation Ground. A total of £3.859m was awarded by the HLF and BIG Lottery Fund under their Parks for People scheme in 2010 and work is now underway to transform the park.
