Groundwork London

Groundwork London helps people and organisations make changes in order to create better neighbourhoods, to build skills and job prospects and to live and work in a greener way. A six year funding agreement is in place with the council which Groundwork use to attract further funding into the Borough. To date around £1m of additional funding has been secured.

Programmes cover many interconnected issues including environment, healthy living, regeneration and unemployment and creates projects and services that benefit both people and the environment.

Projects in Haringey are wide ranging and include landscape consultation, design and implementation, fundraising, community development, food growing, volunteering and employment schemes.

Groundwork has a close relationship with the Council and has been involved in large-scale improvements in six parks as well as a number of smaller spaces. All projects have involved working closely with the residents around them to ensure changes are community-led.

A typical landscape project on a park or open space will involve a prolonged period of consultation, working with a stakeholder group. Once a design has been agreed Groundwork will work to secure the required funding, typically through charitable trusts, the Big Lottery and landfill funding awards. Once secured, the project will be delivered in partnership with the council.
