Dog Control Orders have now come into effect in Haringey parks. Visit our Dog Control in Parks page to find out which parks allow dogs to run around freely, and which parks require dogs to be kept on leads.

Parks and Open Spaces Small Grants Scheme

2013/2014 Parks and Open Spaces Small Grants Scheme, now open for applications

The Parks and Open Spaces Small Grants Scheme offers community groups the opportunity to bid for funding of up to £1,000 to support and develop community activity to help meet the council's aims and priorities for improving the borough's parks and open spaces.

This could happen in a number of ways including physical improvements or by increasing awareness and usage of parks and open spaces. Open spaces could include parks, recreation grounds, nature reserves, community gardens, small areas of land on streets known as 'pocket parks' which benefit Haringey's communities through open space provision.

Three themes have been identified for groups to bid under, and a proportion of the total annual budget - £20,000 - has been allocated to each theme:

  • Theme 1: Projects and events - £12,000
  • Theme 2: Growing your group! - £6,000
  • Theme 3: Making it happen! - £2,000

Groups can apply anytime between 1 April 2013 and January 2014. Applications will be reviewed and awarded on a first come, first served basis. Once the total budget has been awarded, no further applications will be accepted. A decision will be made within two weeks of the application being made, and groups informed.
