Friends of Parks groups

What Friends of Parks groups are.

Overview

A Friends of Parks group is a group of residents sharing a passion for their local park or greenspace. They are our key partners.

Together, Haringey’s Friends of Parks groups spend thousands of hours a year improving parks and greenspaces. We’re incredibly thankful for all they do.

Activities they do includes:

  • litter picking
  • organising and delivering community events like guided walks, and summer picnics
  • planting (wildflowers, bulbs, shrubs, hedges and trees)
  • trimming and tidying vegetation
  • promoting activities
  • sharing news
  • fundraising and campaigning

In this video, Dave from Friends of Lordship Recreation Ground, talks about Friends groups and how they can transform their local greenspaces.
