Friends Groups
Friends Groups are made up of local people, all sharing a passion for their local park. Friends Groups usually meet on a quarterly basis and are represented on the Haringey Parks Friends Forum, also held on a quarterly basis. The Forum serves to bring together the various parks Friends Groups within Haringey and to address shared issues. Information on grant schemes and other issues can be passed on at the Forum and experiences shared.
Most Friends Groups also provide volunteer help within their parks to assist with tasks such as clearing vegetation and litter and clean up operations.
Community involvement is a very important aspect of achieving and maintaining high standards within our parks. It was a major factor in winning our nine Green Flag Awards in 2008.
We welcome your input and involvement. To find out how you can get more involved with your local park or Friends Group contact the Parks Customer Care Line by email: parks@haringey.gov.uk or by phone: 020 8489 1000
