What the council and partners are doing

Violent crime is one of the priorities in Haringey’s Community Safety Strategy.

A range of partners (including the Police, Probation, Youth Offending Service, Victim Support, London Ambulance Service and other community organisations) work together to prevent and reduce violence in Haringey. These partners meet as the Other Violent Crime Partnership Board (OVCB) on a quarterly basis. During 2009/10 the OVCB will be focusing on the following areas:

  • Exchanging information about 'at risk' young people
  • Delivering a programme of research and relevant action about alcohol related violence
  • Early intervention projects regarding weapons
