Partnerships were introduced in England and Wales to collectively prevent and reduce crime, concern about crime and anti-social behaviour. The statutory partners include the local authority, police, probation, fire service and health services, working with residents and local businesses. The partners are committed to delivering against a number of key objectives set out in the Community Safety Strategy 2011-14, which is available in the attached Files Section below.
Key Objectives
- Prevention and reduction of serious violent and acquisitive crime
- Co-ordinating responses to anti-social behaviour and hate crime
- Increase public engagement and confidence linked to community safety and single front line service
- Reducing adult re-offending
- Maximising partnership resources and interventions
- Promoting information sharing, problem solving and evidence led activity
