Open Door

Open Door is a voluntary sector (tier two) counselling and psychotherapy service provided for young people aged 12-24.

The service has two locations, the main one in Crouch End and a satellite service (providing some day time appointments) based at the Laurels Healthy Living Centre in St Ann’s Road Tottenham.

Disabled access is provided at both sites.

Young people from all ethnic and cultural backgrounds can refer themselves by phoning, or coming into, the main office in Crouch End.

Parents or other people working with or concerned about a young person can also refer, but appointments are not offered unless the young person confirms that they do want to attend.

The Open Door team are professionally trained psychotherapists who specialise in working with and supporting young people.

The services provided include:

  • brief time -limited therapy
  • medium-term time limited therapy
  • and longer term psychotherapy for up to 2 years.

Age Range: 12-24

Opening Times: 9am -5pm, plus some evening appointments on:

  • Monday
  • Tuesday
  • and Wednesday.

Open Door Parent Consultation Service

Age range: parents of young people aged 12-21.

Open Door provides a separate service for the parents of teenagers. It aims to help and support parents whose teenage children feel unable or unwilling to access help themselves.

Parents can self refer by phone and will be offered a set of 6 once weekly appointments followed by review appointments.

This service is also provided at both Open Door’s Crouch End and Tottenham sites.
