Join our Youth Council
Haringey Youth Council (HYC) - the voice of young people in Haringey
Our youth council could be for you if you are:
- aged between 11 to 19 years
- living or studying Haringey
- not afraid to speak out.
To become a member, schools, colleges, youth groups and other youth settings can send two representatives and two substitutes to meetings and activities.
Most members have come through their school or youth group. So make contact and check whether you are represented. If not, put yourself forward.
Activities/tasks involved
There are six full meetings of HYC, usually once every half term. Meetings are at the Council Civic Centre between 5 - 7pm. There are also four action groups:
- Youth Funds Panel
- Haringey Investigation Team (HIT)
- Cultural Conflict
- and Media and Marketing.
There is also a Cabinet Leadership Team which meets monthly. You would be a rep for up to two years. So there’s lots to do.
