What students should do whilst on work experience

To gain an idea of the work carried out by the employer, you should undertake real tasks.

You should:

  • learn how the company is organised
  • observe the more complicated parts of running a company
  • gain an understanding of how enterprise, creativity and innovation help business growth.

Employers should monitor what you have achieved through an organised programme.

You should record your progress into a work experience logbook.

The employer could help by making sure you complete it and by completing the employer assessment section for you.
