Information about our traveller team which aims to work closely with traveller, gypsy and roma families, schools, and services to ensure access and raise the achievement of traveller pupils.

Education maintenance allowance (EMA)
EMA pays up to £30 a week directly into your bank account if you stay on in education at school or college after your GCSEs.

Learning support funds (LSF)
If concerns about your cash flow are disrupting your learning, a one off grant of up to a maximum £400 may help if you are a sixth form student. The LSF is a limited optional fund.

Teenage pregnancy and parenthood
To ensure access to education we support

  • schools
  • teenage parents of statutory school age
  • pregnant schoolgirls
  • and their families.

Care to learn
We can pay for your childcare if you are a parent aged 19 years old or under and going to be in learning or training.

Home to school travel assistance
Travel allowance from home to schools for children and young people.

Music and performing arts centre (MPAC)
MPAC is a vibrant and busy service in which young people are encouraged and nurtured to build on their musical ability and experiences.
