Schools Forum

The Schools Forum is a statutory requirement established in accordance with the Education Act 2002. Schools Forums were set up by the government to give schools greater involvement in the distribution of funding for education.

Money

The Haringey Schools Forum was formed in January 2003. It provides a consultative and advisory role on school budgets and other aspects of school expenditure while considering the wider spectrum of education and school issues. Additionally, Haringey Council officers provide support to the work of the Forum. The powers and responsibilities of the Schools Forums in England are set by the Department for Children, Schools and Families and can be found in the attached files section below.

The Forum consists of mainly headteachers and governors, as members representing primary, secondary and special schools in the borough.
