Coleridge School Expansion

The project will expand Coleridge from its current 2 forms of entry to 4 forms of entry from September 2007 in order to meet the growing demand for school places in the area. The expanded school will comprise of a nursery, reception classes, and years 1 and 2 located in a redeveloped building on the former TUC site, opposite the existing school.

Years 3 to 6 will be accommodated within the existing school which will also be adapted and extended. It is planned to minimise the impact of this complex building project on the existing school and its pupils. We are focused on improving facilities and schooling to existing pupils, and providing better accommodation and access to teaching and learning for future pupils.

The Construction Timetable

• Phase 1 - to install temporary classrooms and multi activity games area on the existing school site in July 2007.
• Phase 2 – to demolish parts of the TUC building commencing spring 2007. Re-develop the site creating the new foundation and Key Stage 1 building including external play areas. We have partial occupation from the 1st September and the project will be fully completed in November 2008.
• Phase 3 - to adapt and extend existing school buildings, commencing autumn 2009 with completion in 2010.

Planning Application

The planning application was heard by Haringey Council on 22 January 2007. The Planning Committee approved the planning application for Coleridge School expansion. Minutes from the meeting can be found at our Agenda and Draft Minutes page.
