Building Schools for the Future (BSF) at John Loughborough

This £5million project was completed in Spring 2010. Today, students and staff are now enjoying the new facilities created as part of Building Schools for the Future investment. You can read more about our BSF story in the attached files section.

Making a real difference

The main features of this project include:

Inside the new LRC
  • new science, art and music rooms
  • a Learning Resource Centre (LRC)
  • new maths and sports facilities
  • a new visitor’s centre to enhance the security of the building
  • upgraded Information and Communications Technology (ICT) across the school to bring learning into the 21st Century

Making it happen

Key dates of this project:

The new music room at John Loughborough School

This scheme was granted planning permission in March 2008.

Construction work began on the project in November 2008.

The new facilities were first open to the school in March 2010.

The Architect for the school is Watkins Gray International.

The Contractors were Apollo. Find out more in Meet the Contractors.

Environmental Information

The project at John Loughborough School aims to achieve an independent environmental rating (BEEAM) (external link) of ‘Very Good’.
