Building Schools for the Future (BSF) at Park View Academy

Each of our secondary and special schools has developed its own vision for the future to reflect our overall education vision for the borough. BSF funding amounting to £7.4m will help Park View Academy to achieve this vision.

The school aims to be:

  • the most improved school in London for academic achievement, arts and sporting achievement, and for the development of leadership qualities in young people
  • an environment that enables all students to flourish
  • a model learning community in which young people from richly diverse cultural, social, linguistic and ethnic backgrounds push the boundaries of what is possible and
  • a centre for innovation in teaching and learning; and for excellence in the performing arts, languages and internationalism.

Architect's vision

The school has a clear vision for the future to become a centre for innovation in teaching and learning, to continue to improve academic achievement and to have an environment that students can thrive in. We are aiming to realise this vision in a number of ways. By bringing faculties together across the school so that knowledge sharing can become easier and as a result encourage a sense of subject ownership. The performing arts facilities will also be improved to provide even more opportunities available to students. An improved entrance will provide students with special educational needs (SEN) direct access into the heart of the school building. This ‘heart’ will be in the form of a single, double-height forum space that will link the key elements of the school so that all students can have the opportunity to learn and socialise together.
