Building Schools for the Future (BSF) at Northumberland Park Community School
Each of our secondary and special schools has developed its own vision for the future to reflect our overall education vision for the borough. BSF funding amounting to £17.6m will help Northumberland Park community school to achieve this vision.
The school aims to:
- help each student to develop a positive self-image based on success and achievement
- create an educational environment based on excellent teaching, which motivates our students and promotes positive behaviour
- provide a range of learning opportunities, catering for personalised learning
- develop students’ awareness of their rights and responsibilities within society
- increase the range of services available to the community and
- create an inspirational school environment.
Architect's vision
We have taken the core aspects of the schools’ visions to develop a design for the school which we believe meets the schools aspirations for the future. The creation of a new learning resource centre opening out onto a flexible learning area will enhance the resources available to students and promote an excellent educational environment. Also, key to the design is to bring departmental areas together around the school to facilitate sharing of information and encouraging a sense of subject ownership amongst teachers and students. The inclusion of a new building for staff training will ensure that excellent teaching standards are promoted which will help to build on the success of the school.
