Building Schools for the Future (BSF) at Northumberland Park Community School

The school has a clear vision for the future to create an educational environment based on excellent teaching, which motivates students and promotes positive behaviour in an inspirational school environment.

The main features of  this project include:

  • New Food Technology classrooms
  • A new inclusive learning wing with a linking 'Heart' space with The Vale school
  • New Teacher resource areas
  • Refurbishment of classrooms and dining areas
  • New server room and cabling for the ICT (interactive white boards, computers) in classrooms

The Architect  for the school is Building Design Partnership (BDP). The Contractors are Apollo Group. Find out more in Meet the Contractors.

This scheme was granted planning permission in July 2008.

Work started April 2009.

Students are already benefiting from new Food Technology classrooms.

Estimated Completion Date: June 2010

Environmental Information

The scheme at Northumberland Park aims to achieve an independent environmental rating (BREEAM) of ‘Very Good’.
