Building Schools for the Future (BSF) at John Loughborough
Each of our secondary and special schools has developed its own vision for the future to reflect our overall education vision for the borough. BSF funding amounting to £4m will help John Loughborough seventh-day adventist school to achieve this vision.
The school aims to:
- improve the school’s learning and social spaces
- forge stronger links with the local community and offer use of facilities
- use new and creative ways of teaching and learning
- improve ICT facilities, to enable personalised, 21st-century learning in all subject areas and
- achieve particular excellence in the arts and in sports.
Architect's vision
We have looked closely at the school’s vision for the future and we will be using this to create a design which we feel will work well for the school. We will be upgrading facilities such as information and communications technology (ICT) across the school to bring learning into the 21st Century. An extension for food technology and ICT would also improve the school’s facilities and create further opportunities for students. A key part of the design would be to build a new visitor’s entrance which would enhance the security of the building and encourage a sense of pride for students and staff of the school.
