Building schools for the future (BSF) at Gladesmore Community School

This £11m project was completed in Autumn 2010. Today, students and staff are now enjoying new ways of teaching and learning; inspiring and motivating students, staff and the community with buildings created as part of Building Schools for the Future. Making a real difference

The new Maths block

The new facilities at Gladesmore Community School feature:

  • A new build Maths block and Auditorium
  • Two refurbished teaching blocks including an extension to the dining area
  • Refurbishment of a further block including new windows to West elevation
  • A new secure entrance off Crowland Road
  • A covered walkway and assembly hall to the new Maths block and Science

Making it Happen

Tthe refurbished dining hall

The scheme was granted planning permission on June 2008.

Construction work began in July 2008.

All of the new facilities are now open to the school.

The Architect for the school was TP Bennett.

The contractor who built the project was Balfour Beatty. Find out more about them in Meet the Contractors.

Environmental Information

The programme at Gladesmore Community School aims to achieve an independent environmental rating (BREEAM) of 'Very Good'.
