Building schools for the future (BSF) at Gladesmore community school

The school has a clear vision for the future to develop new ways of teaching and learning and inspire and motivate students, staff and the community.

Key features of the Gladesmore project include:

  • The creation of a new build Maths block and Auditorium
  • The refurbishment of two school blocks including an extension to the dining area
  • The refurbishment of one block including new windows to West elevation
  • A new secured entrance off Crowland Road
  • A covered walkway and assembly hall and to new Maths block and Science

The Architect for the school is TP Bennett. The contractor is Balfour Beatty. Find out more in Meet the Contractors.

The scheme was granted planning permission on June 2008.

The project went on site in July 2008.

New maths block and Auditorium have been completed for the start of the new school year.

Estimated Completion date: September 2010

Environmental Information

The programme at Gladesmore Community School aims to achieve an independent environmental rating (BREEAM) of ‘Very Good’.
