The future of teaching and learning at The Mulberry Primary School

About the project

The Mulberry Primary school is an inclusive school, which continually adapts to meet the needs of children with disabilities. The aim is for all children to enjoy learning and achieve success in a healthy, happy and inclusive environment. The Mulberry aims to provide a setting where difference and diversity are welcomed and celebrated.

The work at The Mulberry will provide access for all members of the school community and the proposed project features:

  • a new accessible building including two classrooms to be built, with the emphasis on the needs of children with disabilities
  • removal and replacement of KS1 temporary classrooms, including appropriate storage and welfare provision
  • provide flexible internal rooms/spaces for visiting professionals (counsellors and social workers), parents meeting room and a training room
  • offer creche facilities next to parent/training spaces
  • provide additional parental access to the nursery that is discreet and secure
  • improve outdoor play facilities.

News and events

Work will start on site in July 2011 at the school.

The contractor appointed to build this project is Diamond Build PLC.

The project is due to complete in autumn 2012.
