Changing Lives - The Children and Young People's Plan

Changing Lives 2006-9 was developed and published in April 2006 to give an overview of the priorities that all stakeholders had for children and young people.

In 2008 we reviewed those priorities and the progress we have made in meeting the targets we set and an updated comprehensive needs assessment and review of Changing Lives have been produced.

This document is the updated Changing Lives and is set out under a section on vulnerable children and young people and each of the five outcome areas:

  • Be Healthy
  • Stay Safe
  • Enjoy and Achieve
  • Make a positive contribution, and
  • Achieve economic well-being

Stepping on Towards Excellence - Evaluation of Changing Lives

Stepping on towards excellence - Evaluation of changing lives front cover

This document reviews and evaluates progress throughout the year in each of the six outcome areas of Changing Lives. In each, the major areas of focus for 2008/09 are outlined. These are taken forward in the annual Changing Lives Programme, published as a supplement to the original plan 2006/09.

The Joint Area Review 2006 (JAR) of services to children and young people in Haringey judged them to be good overall with good capacity for further improvement.

Each year we build on those achievements and make further progress, impacting positively on the life chances of all our children and young people.

Knowing Our Children and Young People – planning for their futures

This document is essential reading for everyone interested in improving the life chances for children and young people in Haringey.

It tells us what we know already, the progress we have made and what we are aiming for.

Knowing our children and young people - Planning for their futures. A needs assessment to inform the Children and Young People's Plan 2006-09. 2007 edition. Front cover

It reflects the enormous improvements made in education, in social care and in health in recent years.

It is understandably ambitious for even greater improvements and it relies upon us all continuing to work for the be

st possible life chances for our children.

The data in this document include information collected locally and nationally. In many cases we are able to compare the experiences of children and young people in Haringey with those across London and across the country. In some cases the information has been collected from the children and young people themselves and also includes what communities have told us.

Knowing our children and young people - Planning for their futures is available in four sections in the attached files section below.
