The Safeguarding Plan presents the key actions being taken within the Council, health and police in response to the Joint Area Review conducted in November 2008 and the follow up inspection of June 2009.

The Safeguarding Plan builds on the JAR Action Plan to address the main issues arising from the June 2009 inspection and incorporate the key findings from the Serious Case Reviews conducted by the Local Safeguarding Children’s Board (LSCB).

The Plan aims to ensure that an acceptable performance is achieved in January 2010 and performance is amongst the best by 2012.
