Children in Care Services

Sometimes children and young people cannot stay with their own families. If they have no other relatives able and willing to care for them, we will look after them.

Our children in care service includes fostering and adoption, family link and the Council's children's homes.

Leaving care
If you have been in care for 13 weeks without a break and are in care on or after your 16th birthday, you have the right to have access to the leaving care services.

Education for Children in Care

The Children in Care Education Team (CiCET) work to raise the educational attainment and attendance of children and young people in the care of Haringey Council.

Independent visitors
Independent visitors are aged 18 or over and have volunteered to spend some time every month with a child or young person to befriend, support and encourage them.
