Child Poverty Strategy Consultation

The Council has developed a Child Poverty Strategy and action plan to ensure that council services and local partners are working in a joined up way to reduce child poverty in the borough and ensure that today’s children do not become the parents of poor children tomorrow.

The Strategy builds on existing strategies, such as the Regeneration Strategy and the Children and Young People’s Plan, and draws together cross cutting work with the aim of accelerating the pace at which we can lift Haringey children out of poverty.

The strategy identifies four objectives that the council needs to meet in order to achieve a substantial reduction in child poverty. These build on our existing priorities and reflect objectives and recommendations made in the London Child Poverty Commission report.
