About Alexandra Park School

Alexandra Park is a mixed 11-18 comprehensive community school situated on a beautiful five-acre site between Muswell Hill Golf Course and Durnsford Park, within sight of Alexandra Palace.

The school opened in 1999 - now entering its twelfth year, the school has expanded to meet growing demand for places. In October 2011 Alexandra Park were successful in their application for Academy Status.

The sixth form was established 7 years ago and is heavily over-subscribed. In 2011 students, once again, achieved 100% pass rate at A2 with 79% of students achieving A*-C, over half achieving A-B grades and 7% being awarded the new A* grade.

Alexandra Park School is an outstanding school. The decisive and inspirational leadership of the headteacher and a highly effective leadership team has enabled Alexandra Park School to continue its journey of rapid improvement. It is a reflective and self-critical organisation which lives its aim to ‘put learning first’ through its every action. Students are highly motivated learners who make rapid progress from their starting points through outstanding teaching, an excellent curriculum and exemplary care, guidance and support. Attainment is high and rising. Students are highly committed to their studies and are aspirational. Their ambitions are high as is reflected in large numbers of students progressing to the most competitive courses and universities.

Partnership with parents was judged to be excellent, the curriculum outstanding and the school in the top 20 percent of schools nationally in terms of students’ academic progress.

The school has appointed outstanding, highly qualified staff who bring vision, energy, enthusiasm and very high expectations to the school.
