London 2012 Events

2012 will be an exciting and busy time for London as we celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, 50 years of Jamaica independence, and host the Olympic and Paralympics Games.

To help ensure we can plan ahead and allocate resources we are asking everyone who may be considering organising an event in Haringey during 2012 to register with us before 31 March 2011.

How to register

Provide as much information as you can about your event in an email to licensing@haringey.gov.uk.

You should let the Council know about any events relating to these celebrations as soon as possible.

What you need to let us know about

The Council needs to know about any event being planned for the borough in 2012. This will include anything from a community street party or fete to a film festival or sporting tournament.

Even if you only have a brief outline and a date, we need to know about it. You will be able to provide more details at a later stage.

What we will do

We will collect information from you, and where necessary, share this with other public and emergency services.

We will advise you whether or not you need a licence for your planned event.

Licensable activities

You may need a licence from the Council if your event will involve:

  • music and dancing
  • the sale of alcohol, or
  • late night refreshment

If your proposed event involves any licensable activity and has an expected crowd of up to 499 you are able to apply for a Temporary Event Notice. You must however apply for this a full clear 10 working days before the event date and this carries a fee of £21 for this process.

For events with attendance over 500 people you will need to submit an application at least 3 months ahead of your proposed event.

For more information on licensing issues or to register a 2012 event visit the Licensing Information page or contact the Licensing Team by emailing licensing@haringey.gov.uk.

Street Parties

Hire of venue and equipment

If you are seeking to hire any of the parks for your event then please ensure you contact the Parks Service to ensure permission and availability of the use of the park.
