Hypnotism Authorisation

If you wish to show, demonstrate or perform a hypnotism act in public in Haringey, you must have authorisation from Haringey Council.

You must comply with any conditions attached to an authorisation.

Meaning of Hypnotism

"Hypnotism" includes hypnotism, mesmerism and any similar act or process which produces or is intended to produce in any person any form of induced sleep or trance in which the susceptibility of the mind of that person to suggestion or direction is increased or intended to be increased but does not include hypnotism, mesmerism or any such similar act or process which is self-induced (Hypnotism Act 1952 section 6).

Will tacit consent apply?

No. It is in the public interest that we process your application before it can be granted. If you have not heard from us within a reasonable period, please contact the us using the details at the bottom of the page.

Where tacit consent is applicable, it will only apply for licences / registrations that are submitted electronically or the business can show proof of delivery from a post office or recognised courier.

Consumer complaints
