Tattooists, body-colouring, ear-piercing, electrolysis and acupuncturists
The Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982 Part VIII requires the following types of skin piercing to be registered with the council:
- acupuncture
- tattooing
- ear-piercing
- electrolysis
These activities are covered by the Massage and Special Treatments provisions in London. To apply for a Special Treatments Licence or for further information, refer to Massage and Special Treatments .
