Business Support Initiatives
The Council’s Economic Regeneration Team currently manages a number of business support initiatives that are partly funded through the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund.

Young Entrepreneur Scheme (YES)
This is delivered by Haringey Education Business Partnership (HEBP), which is assisting 24 young people, who were previously at risk of exclusion from training and employment to gain the AQA ‘Starting a Business’ qualification.

Delivered by HEBP, who have recruited 8 business mentors to work with 45 year 10 business students to assist them in their GCSE in business studies.
This is a good example of how local businesses can work with schools to enhance learning opportunities for young people.

An Industrial Estates worker based at the North London Chamber of Commerce (NLCC) promotes regeneration initiatives on Haringey industrial estates and consolidates working relationships between the Council and businesses on the estates.
The programme aim is to encourage sustainable investment and to create and safeguard jobs.

The CREATE partnership led by Exemplas Ltd is delivering a programme of training and business support for individuals and businesses considering becoming franchisees and franchisors.
They also work with local business support agencies, training business advisors to enable them to support these individuals and businesses.

We are contributing to the Safer Town Centre manager’s post at FinFuture, a regeneration agency based in Finsbury Park. Our funds are enabling the local business community on Stroud Green road to come together to tackle a number of issues around crime.

Biz Challenge is a programme delivered by KIS training targeted at residents from Black and minority ethnic communities considering self employment.
The project seeks to move a proposition from idea to trading status, utilising local funding streams and offering bespoke business support to enable Black and minority ethnic businesses to succeed beyond start-up.
