Physical Regeneration

The Physical Regeneration team is part of the Economic Regeneration team within the Urban Environment directorate.

The team manages and delivers a range of physical improvement and strategic projects associated with Haringey’s Regeneration Strategy - People, Places and Prosperity. This strategy outlines the objectives for the creation of an inclusive and sustainable community.

The team also actively pursues opportunities for securing external grant funding to help deliver physical improvements. Since 2005 it has successfully secured substantial grants (over £4m) from sources including English Heritage, the Heritage Lottery Fund, the London Development Agency, the European Union and Central Government.

Projects that the team has recently delivered include:

As well as physical projects, the team is involved in the development of strategic projects and works with a number of Council departments on various schemes. Currently, the team is developing strategic planning guidance for the Wood Green Town Centre development.

The team also plays an active role in the town centre management of the borough’s two main town centres – Wood Green and Tottenham High Road.
