Haringey City Growth (HCG)

Haringey City Growth (HCG) is managed by North London Business and is the independent voice for businesses in Haringey.

It is a business led approach to economic redevelopment that focuses on the economic advantages and potential of the borough.

By engaging with and recognising the needs of all of Haringey’s business Haringey City Growth will create a business environment and opportunities that help drive economic regeneration in the borough.

How it works

HCG is building business clusters in the five strongest employment sectors in the borough:

Creative industries
Sports, leisure and tourism
Food and drink: production and distribution
Professional services
Retail

In each sector, a Cluster Action Team (CAT) made up of related and supporting businesses work together to capitalise on their combined knowledge and contacts to drive innovation, improve productivity and increase local prosperity.

The CATs provide direction and determine priorities by identifying the challenges and opportunities for their sector.

They pursue opportunities to pool resources, develop joint facilities, exploit market opportunities and strengthen business influence over education, training and local employment.

Get involved

Each cluster employs a cluster developer with specialist knowledge of their sector.

Contact your cluster developer to learn how your business can become involved in Haringey City Growth.

Your involvement gives the HCG programme an accurate picture of what it takes to make businesses in Haringey more successful and prosperous so that Council services, educational institutions and economic development agencies can respond.

A key cornerstone of the HCG programme is that businesses influence decisions on public spending for economic development.

Each CAT has a budget. As a Haringey City Growth business, together with fellow CAT members, you will make the decisions on how it would be allocated in order to address the challenges and opportunities in your sector.

However, you need to get involved with HCG to make a difference.
