LHA Safeguards Procedure

The LHA Safeguards Procedure has been produced to help us decide whether we could pay Housing Benefit directly to a landlord where the LHA rules apply. It sets out guidelines that will apply in those rare cases where a claimant is:

• likely to have difficulty managing their financial affairs or,
• unlikely to pay their rent.
