We provide housing advice and assistance on a wide range of housing problems to:

These pages are designed to help all Haringey residents who have a housing related enquiry.

We can also provide advice over the telephone, via email and through the council's Customer Services Centres. In some cases we may also invite you to attend an appointment with one of our Housing Advice and Options Officers.

Looking for somewhere to live?

Finding a place to live can be very difficult. Our leaflet "Finding Private Rented Accommodation", which you will find in our attached files section, gives information about finding private rented properties. We also have information about paying a deposit and low cost home ownership. We have links with a small number of local housing schemes and we can check what is available if you contact us.

Private tenants

Are you experiencing any of these problems:

  • landlord/tenant disputes,
  • harassment,
  • illegal eviction, or

If you are having problems with your mortgage have a look through our leaflet "Mortgage problems" which you can find in the attached files section.

To find out about disrepair and improvement grants for long-term empty properties please contact the Empty Property Officer on 020 8489 4214.

If you are experiencing anti-social behaviour in your neighbourhood please contact the Anti-Social Behaviour Team on 0845 611177.

We can advise you on your rights under your lease including end of lease problems, mortgage problems, threat of repossession and succession rights.
