Tottenham Hotspur Football Club Stadium Development

Stadium Development

Tottenham Hotspur Football Club were granted planning permission by Haringey Council in 2011 for the redevelopment of White Hart Lane Stadium and the surrounding land. This scheme was known as the Northumberland Park Development (NDP) scheme. Phase 1 of the NDP scheme has been completed and comprises a Sainsbury’s superstore on Northumberland Park Avenue and Lilywhite House which is home to Tottenham University Technical College and the football club’s offices. Most of the land to the north of Paxton Road has now been cleared of buildings and work is currently underway on the stadium phase of the NDP scheme.

On 16 December 2015 Haringey Council’s Planning Sub-Committee resolved to grant planning permission to Tottenham Hotspur to update their proposals for the stadium and the remainder of the site. This new permission was issued on 15th April 2016 by the council and consented a larger stadium than that previously approved (61,000 seats rather than 56,250) and approved more flats on the wider site (579 rather than 285). Other changes approved include a new club store and museum described as ‘The Tottenham Experience’, an extreme sports centre, a 180 bedroom hotel, a community medical centre and new public square. (Some details of the various buildings granted planning permission will be submitted by Tottenham Hotspur at a later date as part of the planning process.) The council also granted Listed Building Consent for the demolition of three locally listed buildings and works to the Grade II Listed Warmington House on the same date.

You can view the consented plans for the Stadium (Ref: HGY/2015/3000) and the details of the Listed Building Consent (Ref: HGY/2015/3001) using Haringey Council’s Online Planning services website. Details of an associated planning application at 44 White Hart Lane (which granted by the council to allow the Club to use this site as a construction compound for a temporary period of 3 years) can also be viewed online.
