Haringey survey on adaptations service
Wednesday 30 January 2008
Haringey Council is to take part in a national survey into the adaptations work it carries out at people's homes.
The survey aims to learn more about whether equipment and adaptations such as stair lifts, hand rails or bathing equipment, help people live safe and independent lives in their own homes.
The survey will be of people in the borough who received equipment between September and December last year.
They will be sent a questionnaire through the post in February.
Cllr Bob Harris, cabinet member for adult social care, said:
"The survey will be sent out to several hundred people who took advantage of the service towards the end of last year.
"I would ask everyone who is sent a copy of the questionnaire to take part - it will help us ensure that we provide as good a service as possible.
"We want to help people, including the elderly and people with a disability, to stay in their homes. Equipment and adaptations to their house can be a real help."
