Haringey Guarantee

Need help finding work?

The Haringey Guarantee may be able to help you gain the skills, confidence and know-how to get the right job for you. Our advisors will meet with you on a regular one-to-one basis to work with you and help you in finding the right training or employment opportunities.

The Haringey Guarantee programme provides Information, Advice & Guidance (IAG) and one-to-one sessions focussed on supporting residents into sustained employment. This IAG draws upon support and information services available within the borough that may assist residents overcome barriers to sustained employment. The Haringey Guarantee is for Haringey residents currently not in employment and not in full-time education

Services include:

  • One-to-one Information, Advice and Guidance in returning to and remaining in work, delivered from various offices across the borough;
  • Benefits advice and how welfare benefits and working tax credits may be affected when starting work;
  • Voluntary work placements available with local employers and Haringey Council;
  • Access to other Council frontline services;
  • SIA Security training;
  • Guaranteed job interviews with local employers and Haringey Council; and
  • In-work support and careers advice for up to 6 months.

Work placements

A work placement can help you build your CV, help you gain a reference and give you valuable experience (and confidence) in a chosen field of work.  The Haringey Guarantee can provide support in sourcing a suitable work placement. NLPC (North London Partnership Consortium) based in Northumberland Park can provide access to suitable work placements as well as providing continued support during and after your work placement.

The Haringey Employment and Skills team is the core team of the Haringey Guarantee delivering an employment and skills service to the residents of Haringey. The team is based in Northumberland Park.

Positive Employment

Positive Employment is a local resource centre situated next to CoNEL. The aim of the project is to assist unemployed Haringey residents into suitable sustainable employment. Participants are engaged in motivational programmes which include: CV design and completion and individual help with application form complete and confidence building.

SIA Training

Aidevian Consultancy has 15 years experience of providing employment focussed training and information, advice and guidance.  Delivered  by Aidevian Consultancy and in conjunction with the Haringey Employment and Skills Team; the 5 day SIA training course gives you the chance to work towards a Level 2 qualification and nationally recognised Security Industry Authority (SIA) qualification

Train 2 Job

Train 2 Job offers employability support and various sector accredited training throughout the year. This training may include training in care, security (CCTV), construction and food and hygiene.

If you would like to find out more about the different training opportunities you can attend an open day. These are held every Tuesday and Thursday from 10am-1pm at:

Sew Tottenham

SEW Tottenham is a community-based informal and creative learning opportunity for adults that focuses on developing both business and creative skills.  The course is centred around; fashion design, sewing and cutting skills, creating individual portfolios and developing web-based marketing skills.
