Did you know - We can usually offer weddings and civil partnerships within three weeks of the date you give notice of marriage.
Opening times and where we are
We are open Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 4pm and are based at Haringey Civic Centre on Wood Green High Road only 5 minutes walk from Wood Green Underground Station. Please use post code N22 9SB if driving to our office.
The office is closed until 2pm on the first Thursday of the month, every month. This is for training purposes.
Birth registrations, marriage notices, Citizenship Ceremonies and Nationality Checking Service by appointment only.

Our phones tend to be busiest on Mondays. If your enquiry is not urgent you may prefer to call us Tuesday to Friday when our phones are quieter. Our phones are most quiet in the afternoon after 2pm.
The whole of the Register Office is on the ground floor and is fully accessible to wheelchairs and people with disabilities. Baby-changing facilities and disabled toilets are also available.

We can supply copies of births, deaths and marriage certificates that have taken place in Haringey since 1837. Copies of full certified Birth, Death, Marriage and Civil Partnership certificates are £10 each.
For the statutory fee we can issue certificates for collection after two clear working days or posted out to you*. For example certificates ordered on a Monday will be ready on the Thursday. Those ordered on a Friday will be ready the following Wednesday.
*Standard postage is £1 and £5 for Recorded and Overseas post. You are welcome to send your own Stamped Addressed Envelope if you wish to avoid postage fees.
Same Day Monday to Friday Certificate Service
For an additional fee of £11 per certificate ordered and for orders placed before 11.30am we can have your certificate ready for collection at 3.30pm. Orders placed after 11.30am will be ready at 3.30pm the following working day.
Express 1 Hour Service (Monday to Friday)
For an additional fee of £21 per certificate we can issue your certificate within 1 hour. Orders can be placed up until 3pm.
You can apply for these in person and by post.
Payment
You can pay over the phone or at the Counter using a Credit or Debit Card. We accept cash over the counter or cheques payable to Haringey Council by post.
Initial Online Request
You can make an initial request for a copy of a birth, death or marriage certificate online. Please note that we do not have an online payment facility. A member of the Register Office staff will contact you within three working days to take payment and process your order. You can call us on 020 8489 2605 to order a certificate too.

If you need urgent help outside opening hours (eg: if a burial has to be within 24 hours because of religious beliefs), you should telephone the Councils emergency number 020 8348 3148. You will then be given the mobile number of the Registrar on duty who will liaise with you to issue the necessary certificate. We can also arrange urgent weddings for people in critical situations that are not likely to recover.

Haringey's Civic Centre is easily accessible by public transport.
- Buses: numbers 29, 121, 232, 221, 329, W4 and mobility buses stop outside the Centre.
- Underground: Wood Green underground station (Piccadilly line) is a short walk from the Centre.
- Car: There is limited parking at the front of the building. Nearby streets have pay and display facilities.
- The postcode N22 8LE will not work in satellite navigation systems. For Sat Navs please use N22 9SB as the postcode.
