Discover Green Tottenham – Yes Tottenham!
Haringey Council is delighted to be featured in this year’s alternative garden festival – Chelsea Fringe 2017, 20 May – 4 June 2017.
The alternative festival runs alongside the Chelsea Flower show as well as an additional 2 weeks with a variety of events that celebrate the community and guerrilla gardening. Events can include any genre with a link to gardening and can include art, literature, music, cookery, history, crafts and ecology.
The tour is called ‘Discover Green Tottenham, Yes Tottenham!’ - it is a free day walking tour of some of Tottenham’s treasured gardens, parks and allotments – as well as some tasty home grown treats along the way.
Traditionally not recognised for its green credentials, Tottenham is home to London’s largest green and open space Lee Valley park, as well as a number of award winning parks and open spaces.
The tour will include visits to an urban tropical garden, a cooking demonstration, a visit to the Tottenham Green Market. There will also be a tour of Lee Valley Estates Hale Village urban award winning gardens, and a thriving community allotment.
The tour starts at Seven Sisters Tube station (exit 1) at 11am on Sunday 28 May. Full details and registration can be found on the Chelsea Fringe website (external link).
Get inspired, bring your walking boots and enjoy a day of hidden treasures.
