What we consulted on

Haringey Council as the Licensing Authority has used its Statement of Gambling Policy since 2007 to guide the process of determining applications and is responsible for reviewing and publishing the policy every three years. The Gambling Act aims to promote 3 key objectives to enable more freedom for business operators and customers, whilst clamping down on crime and disorder and protecting children and the vulnerable.

The draft Policy has been updated to give clearer guidance on the matters the Council can have regard to when considering an application and to confirm our arrangements for ensuring that premises comply with their license conditions and responsibilities. You are able to view the revised draft Statement of Gambling Policy in the attached files section below.

The Statement of Gambling Policy is a substantial document, and for your convenience we have therefore included a brief questionnaire with some key points. You are welcome to comment on any part of the document, please base your comments on the main document and not the summary/feedback form.

The Authority is bound by the Gambling Act 2005 and the guidance produced in accordance with the Act by the Gambling Commission. The Act can be viewed at UK Legislation website (external link) and the guidance at the Gambling Commission website (external link).

If you are commenting on behalf of others, please include a summary of the people and organisation that you represent. Your comments should be sent in writing or by email as detailed below. If you have any queries about the consultation, please contact the service by phone or email.
